These 5 Wine Bars in Scottsdale are Top Destinations for Wine Enthusiasts that Love Good Times
As a Scottsdale Realtor for almost 2 decades, I know that living in Scottsdale Arizona is about a lot more than just the home you live in or the community in which you live. Living in Scottsdale is also about being surrounded by amazing local hotspots. Whether you enjoy outdoor activities like golf, biking or hiking or just want to enjoy a great shopping or dining experience, Scottsdale Arizona is the epicenter of entertainment and cool activities in Arizona.
So I figured, what the heck? Let me share my top 5 wine bars located in all parts of Scottsdale. Here's my list. No disappointments here.
Starting with #5 on the list.
Sorso Wine Room in Scottsdale Quarter
Featuring 125 different wines from around the world at price points that fits all budgets, Sorso offers a unique wine tasting and culinary experience in the heart of Scottsdale Quarter. If you prefer to taste til you choose, Sorso offers a push button dispense system to pour your own wine to sample or pour by the glass with 32 wines to choose from making this a one-of-a-kind Scottsdale experience.
Sorso also offers multiple craft beer selections from different parts of North America by the bottle or draft and a wide ranging food menu that includes salads, sandwiches, several bruschetta board options, flatbreads and 2 different choices of mac and cheese including the popular Million Dollar Mac. Who doesn't love a little lump crab mixed in with one of America’s favorite dishes.
For a little privacy you can drink and dine in Cellar 24, Sorso's semi private wine cellar or you can enjoy the beautiful fall, winter and spring months swirling and sipping your favorite wine on the outdoor patio.
The central location in Scottsdale Quarter makes it easily accessible whether you live in North or South Scottsdale. If you live in the Kierland area, even better.
Looking for a nice local bottle and great food in the epicenter of Arizona’s premier lifestyle and entertainment district.
#4 on my list of top 5 Scottsdale wine bars is
Merkin Vineyards in Old Town Scottsdale
Merkin is where you go if you want to experience a great indoor wine tasting environment, delicious Italian pasta, pizza and artisan boards and experience local wines from the Verde Valley, 110 estate acres in Wilcox Arizona.
With a menu that is constantly changing and a wine list sure to please any palate, Merkin is a must experience next time life takes you to Old Town Scottsdale.
Merkin is located on Stetson Drive on the south side of the canal across from Scottsdale Waterfront.
If you're looking for a cool wine room that has a neighborhood bar feel you're going to love #3 on my Top 5 Scottsdale wine bars list
Rift Wine Bar & Taphouse
Located in South Scottsdale on Scottsdale Road south of Old Town on the Tempe border, Rift is so casual that instead of having a kitchen they delegate the task of feeding their patrons to local food trucks that visit the parking lot every night drawing lines that wrap into the surrounding neighborhood and cars that congest its streets. Although it would seem that many of the residents are either waiting in the food truck line or inside enjoying craft beer themselves. It's the perfect scenario to enjoy a variety of foods ranging from mouth watering burgers to authentic tacos and everything in between and of course pair it with great craft beers and wine.
Check their website for the food truck schedule.
When you enter, casual seating inside is sectioned into a large 25 seat bar area and comfy couches separated by a large centered community seating section. The atmosphere is that of a cool locals bar with lots of smiles and great conversation.
The taproom and wine bar feature craft beers with special events occasionally to meet the brewer and as they say, small production wines. The wine and many of the craft beers are also sold retail to go. There’s even a sound studio visual to the patrons where podcasts are produced.
It's no wonder Rift carries a 4.9 rating currently with over 190 reviews on Google.
Counting down to #2 on my top 5 Scottsdale wine bars finds us in North Scottsdale sharing a bottle with amigos in an atmosphere just like your home...well Living Room to be more precise.
The Living Room Wine Cafe & Lounge
Most of us leave home to get out of that all too familiar atmosphere that for many represents stress and anxiety but there's just something about sharing an experience in a home away from home. I suppose that's why Airbnb has become so successful...I digress.
Located at the Market Street in DC Ranch, considered one of my favorite hidden secrets for most valley residents but a very familiar hotspot for local North Scottsdale residents, The Living Room not only features an extensive wine list but a diverse menu ranging from brunch items in the AM to sushi PM you can enjoy this hotspot morning, noon or night.
Whether on a date or just hanging with your homies, The Living Room is one of the top wine bars in the entire Phoenix valley with 2 other locations valley wide to choose from. If you've never been, stop by. You won't be disappointed.
Here we go, it's time for the creme de la creme, the pick of the litter, the Big Kahuna, the darling of Scottsdale wine bars. #1 on my list of top Scottsdale wine bars has been a locals favorite now for almost 2 decades.
Terroir Wine Pub
There's just something special that happens when you mix locally owned pride of ownership with an established hangout designed with locals in mind. Terroir perfectly located in the McCormick Ranch neighborhood of Central Scottsdale has been a go to hotspot destination in Scottsdale since 2004 and one of the longest standing wine bars in the entire state of Arizona.
The atmosphere is that of a locals hangout with a large open space bar area, comfortable couch seating, a private room for parties, seating next to the full scale wine wall all opening via glass garage door to an oversized outdoor patio area. The friendly bar staff will walk you through the menu and large wine selection sold by the bottle or generously poured glass.
Why do locals love this place? Well aside from the previously mentioned friendly staff and large wine selection, Terroir features Happy Hour 7 Days a week. Select wines are on Happy Hour pricing all day every day. And I can't forget the live acoustic style music that romances the crowd 4 nights a week.
Whether on a date, hanging with friends or just want to enjoy a nice Big Red glass of Cabernet while watching a ball game, this really is a hotspot that speaks to all personalities and occasions.
